Service Description

Do you have an item of clothing that fits just the way you like? Do you wish you could have more and worry about it getting old and tatty? Wish you had it in a different colour or fabric? This is the course for you! You will learn how to take a pattern from your chosen garment without unpicking a stitch! By using a couple of basic techniques, you will create a clone a pattern of the garment, including any darts, gathers or pleats used to shape it. You will then check that your pieces make sense, and will fit together correctly. Finally we will mark the pieces with their details, pattern markings and seam allowance. By the end of the session you will have your cloned pattern to take home. The practical bits: What you need to bring: All of the equipment and materials are provided other than your chosen item you want to clone. I would suggest bringing a couple of items. Drinks are available at the studio. Food is not provided, so please bring any snacks or meals you require. Stockport Centre is less than 10 minute walk away, and there are pubs and restaurants in the immediate area. Getting here: Kingston House is well located both for public transport and driving. It is a 5 minute drive from junction 1 of the M60 and there is a car park at the studios. It is less than a 10 minute walk from both Stockport train and bus stations. The studio is on the first floor of the building and the toilet is on the ground floor. I can assist with carrying bags/machines, but please note that there is no lift.
